At Turk Arabians we have been carefully selecting bloodlines known to produce athletic riding horses.  When the horse has the proper build, the job is much easier.  We insist that the individual phenotypically look like their pedigree says they should. Specific traits that an outstanding reining horse require include: correct legs and feet, balanced build, powerful rear-end and torso, short back, laid back shoulder with a high neck set, a long fine throatlatch, uphill build, and beautiful Arabian type.  The combination of all these traits lead to individuals that possess self carriage, a huge advantage over horses that have to be ‘put together’.  When the individual matches its pedigree, a high degree of consistency in the offspring can be expected.  And, this horse will be more desirable as a breeding prospect to produce the elite athletes that riders are seeking for Dressage and the growing divisions of Reining and Sport Horse.

Palo Flechado: 1997.  (*Nariadni x *Provodka) Palo is a rare offering on the market today.  He is a straight Russian stallion line bred to Nabeg through *Nariadni.  Phenotypically he is very similar to Nabeg, with a huge eye and extremely powerful body.  He is very prepotent in these traits, along with his dam's ability to break at the loin and get into the dirt for dynamic stops and spins.  If you are looking for a reining horse that can perform at the top level and sire more, Palo is it.
